Email Lists:

Email listserves have also been set up for the Cub and Boy Scout roundtables. This avoids having to send out email messages with everyone's addresses attached. This is an opt-in, opt-out system. To get on the list, you have to subscribe. To get off the list, you have to unsubscribe.

	You can subscribe to either list or both..
	Only subscribers can post messages to the lists.
	Subscribers submitting offensive, abusive, threatening, or otherwise inappropriate material to the lists will be removed and their addresses will be permanently blocked.
	You can subscribe either to the regular list (you receive messages shortly after they are posted) or the digest list (you receive all of the messages in one email every Sunday morning). You can switch back and forth between the two forms if necessary.

How to subscribe

From the email address at which you want to receive your messages, send an email to Subscriptions[at]cogiobabsa.com. In the body of the message, type

subscribe <list name> <your name>

For list name, substitute either cubscoutroundtable or boyscoutroundtable. For your name, substitute your first and last names. Don't include the <> symbols. Within 15 minutes you should receive a message confirming your subscription. If you are having difficulty subscribing, send a message to the WebCommish.

Some folks have had difficulty subscribing using this method. Since visual training aids often work better than written ones, here's a screen shot of how your email should look. If you are trying to subscribe to both lists, you will need to send separate messages for each list.

How to unsubscribe

If you want to stop receiving the email messages, send an email to Subscriptions[at]cogiobabsa.com. In the body of the message, type

unsubscribe <list name>

For list name, substitute the name of the list you want to be removed from. Don't include the <> symbols.

If your email address changes

In order to continue receiving the messages, you will need to unsubscribe your old address and subscribe your new one.

To change to digest mode

Send an email to Subscriptions[at]cogiobabsa.com. In the body of the message type

set mode digest <list name>

For list name, substitute the name of the list you want to be removed from. Don't include the <> symbols.

To change from digest back to regular mode

Send an email to Subscriptions[at]cogiobabsa.com. In the body of the message type

set mode standard <list name>

For list name, substitute the name of the list you want to be removed from. Don't include the <> symbols.
